Highlands
Across the South Platte River and over the highway from downtown Denver, sit the Highlands, home to some of the city’s most innovative restaurants like Little Man Ice Cream which is housed in a ginormous milk can, and Victorian-era homes tucked into the hillside overlooking the city. There are several microneighborhoods to discover– West Highlands, LoHi, and Highlands Square. Each have inspired shopping, dining, and strolling atmospheres all their own, but you won’t find chains or box stores here. The Highlands are colorful with locally minded businesses and cool historic architecture, and downtown is easy to reach via three pedestrian bridges.
